Padang-Padang Beach
Waiting Period 16-31 July 2004

For immediate release : Monday, July 26th, 2004
Contest :

The RIP CURL CUP 2004 waiting period has been postponed and a big swell is expected to hit two days after the full moon, August 2nd, and bring the RIP CURL CUP 2004 charging to life !

Conditions today have improved, but the swell is not big enough to break in Padang-Padang. There¹s no possibility to run the contest on Tuesday July 27th or Wednesday July 28th, as planned before. The upcoming swell is promising and many surfers have been calling our office hoping that we extend to catch Padang at its finest.

Forecast has shown a strong push with multiple lines coming towards Bali in the next 7 days, so lets hope Huey does his magic and the swell materializes early next week.

Keep Searchin!

The Billabong Indonesia Pro 2004 was held at Keramas beach Gianyar East Bali in beauriful sunny weather with glassy conditions and great 3 to 5 foot surf for most of the day.Early morning low tide the swell was only 2 to 3 foot but as the big hi tide came in there were excellent 4 foot barrels with some 5 foot sets enabling the competitors to showcase their full repertoire of manoeuvres. With a mixed field of surfers from Australia,Hawaii,Japan and New Zealand the local surfers really had to work hard, and at the end of the day it showed through with their knowledge of the break, as conditions for the final deteriorated with the low tide.
